p. 7 - 23

On page 9 & 10 it's told how the people in the desert heel with oil and mix all those little bottles together and know how to do it very well. They helped the burned patient and saved his life.
The nurse then reads to the english patient. They are living in a ruin because the nurse decided that the english patient can't be moved again and that she wants to stay with him. She repaired what she needed to, like the stairs with piles of books. A lot of rooms didn't have walls, so they were wet and windy without shelter. But in the summer the sun could come in and dry all the wet beds and walls.Description of the ruined house that used to be used as a hospital and now has only a few beds left.
"From outside the place seemed devestated" That protecs them from enemies because no one would think that anyone lived in this place.
She plants vegetables in the garden so that they have things to eat.
She plays games with chalk like a little child to keep herself busy.
She reads to the english patient from a book where he took notes in during his journey. The book describes the nature, the wind and the air.
Then there's a convesation in the darkness and again a part of the book on p. 18.
On page 23 the chapter ends with a desription of the nurse washing herself.

I like this chapter although i was really sceptical about it in the beginning but I like the people and i can feel with them.
