A saper while defusing a bomb

Florence - near this city is the villa






















sikh sapper named Kip appears. Sikh is his religion. sapper means someone that's making bombs secure so that they can't explode anymore. He is from India and lives in a tent in the garden because he's working on making the area safe. He also takes showers in the fountain and Hana likes to watch him.

Hana is in the villa playing the piano --> Kip freaks out because he's scared that there would be a bomb in it. his worries turn out unnessecary because it's safe.

Hana runs out to help him when he needs help and they defuse the bomb together. While they are both exhausted they first get closer to each other.

A noise is interrupting while the people living in the villa are enjoying their evening in the house, Hardy, who had also been a sapper died while trying to defuse a bomb - kip claims that it wasn't a bomb and that there's nothing to worry about -
Kip leaves after a while Hardy
Kip comes back, wants to talk to Hana in privacy --> the english patient's hearing aids are being removed

Caravaggio doesn't like the thought of hana being in love with a half-dead person so he tries to convince her of the advantages Kip has compared to the English patient.

She spends the night with him.
